Trees at The Meteor

Trees at The Meteor is BACK and celebrating its 18th birthday!

One of the most iconic Waikato Christmas events returns for another year of festive ‘tree-ts’ and The Meteor are shaking it up by hosting the exhibition in their Nancy Caiger Gallery!

This year, the event is going back to our roots by embracing an overall theme of Sustainability (or Sustainabili-Tree!) for all Trees.

With recycled treasure and loads of creativity, The Meteor will transform into a forest full of native and artistic trees from creators around Aotearoa!

Registrations are now open for Trees!
If you would like to create a Sustainability themed Mini tree for this year’s exhibition, then please register your creation here!
Registrations close at 5pm Friday 15th November or until registrations are full. Some useful info to know when entering your creation:
– Size requirement for trees is 30 x 30 cm wide and 30cm high.
– All Mini Trees will be displayed on shelves with one side against the wall. This means about ¾ of the Mini Tree will be able to be viewed.
– Our drop off day for completed Trees will likely be on Saturday 23rd November – more details to come!

Trees at The Meteor will be open in The Meteor's Nancy Caiger Gallery from 4th to 20th December!

Enjoy the festivi-trees with a coffee or hot chocolate in the café while you decide on which audience favorite to vote for. Or pose with friends and whaanau with funny props for some ‘Awkward Family Photos’ capturing happy memories for a lifetime. For a small donation, we can also upcycle your t-shirt with a custom screen-printed “Trees at The Meteor” themed design!

To make the exhibition even more affordable, entry is koha!

Opening hours:

Wednesday – Saturday, 11am-2pm from 4th – 14th December, and

Wednesday – Saturday, 7pm-9pm from 18th – 20th December.
