Suzanne Lynch rose to fame in the 60s as one half of singing duo The Chicks and went on to tour internationally with Cat Stevens, Neil Sedaka and Charles Aznavour.
Suzanne’s stunning memoir Yesterday When I Was Young recounts her eventful life as an internationally revered vocalist.
She’ll share with author and broadcaster Karyn Hay – expect a song or two.

Suzanne Lynch MNZM
One of New Zealand’s most respected vocalists and music mentors, Suzanne Lynch MNZM rose to fame as one half of The Chicks in the ‘60’s, often appearing on TV shows like Happen Inn. Moving to the UK In the 1970s, she became an in-demand session singer for artists such as Cat Stevens, Neil Sedaka, and Charles Aznavour. Later she became a vocal coach on NZ Idol, Stars In Their Eyes, and NZ’s Got Talent and continues to perform with The Lady Killers. Suzanne was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2001.
Karyn Hay ONZM
Well-known broadcaster Karyn Hay ONZM is currently the host of The Saturday Spring on 95bfm. In 2020 she awarded the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to broadcasting and the music industry. She is also the author of three novels including Emerald Budgies, winner of the NZ Society of Authors Hubert Church Best First Book Award in the Montana NZ Book Awards in 2001, The March of the Foxgloves and Winged Helmet, White Horse. Awarded a Frank Sargeson Fellowship in 2004, she is a literary advisor to the Frank Sargeson Trust, and mentor for the New Zealand Society of Authors.
