The Tale of Tsar Saltan

Storybook Theatre and The Meteor weave a beautiful school holiday show: The Tale of Tsar Saltan, by Alexander Pushkin.

Watch the giant storybook come to life, opening to reveal a magical world of enchanted swans, horrible aunts and heroic princes!

A narrator, a hero, a villain and some puppets are all elements of this great tale, adapted by Hamilton theatre stalwarts Maria Eaton and Adrian Holroyd. The Tale of Tsar Saltan tells the story of a noble prince who is cast out of his kingdom and the magical adventures that follow!

Alexander Pushkin’s original story of the Tsar Sultan, along with sumptuous art nouveau illustrations, is intricately rendered in a larger than life-sized antique book. Beautifully and intricately conjuring the perfect background for this celebration of traditional story-telling, combined with live actors and some puppets too…

A delightful school holiday experience for kids and anyone who believes in fairy tales!

Two shows daily (10:30am and 1pm).
